Next up in the NPPR Leadership & Voluntary Program Workgroup 2020 webinar series will be presentations on awards programs. Michael Kelley from the Ohio Environment Protection Agency and Christina Campo from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will discuss how they use awards programs to promote P2 activities. Join us to learn from these state agencies.

Ohio EPA’s Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) Program recognizes an organization’s exceptional achievements in environmental stewardship. Any business, industry, trade association, professional organization or local government of Ohio can be recognized for their commitment to environmental excellence. The program has a four-level approach to provide recognition to Ohio organizations completing environmentally beneficial activities. The E3 program has 8 E4 recipients, 12 Platinum Level recipients, 49 Gold Level recipients, 38 Silver Level recipients, 80 Achievement Level recipients and 137 individual organizations recognized in one or more of these four levels.

The NY DEC Environmental Excellence Awards presentation will cover the application process, the types of applicants we are looking for, examples of past winners, the benefits of receiving an application, and the modifications we have already implemented and plan to make in light of the COVID-19 crisis.
