Join us to learn more about best practices in Organics Diversion. Jennifer will be reviewing national trends in organics recycling, as well as providing an overview of the Food Beverage & Organics programs at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center, including the Green Brewery Certification Program. She will also review funding sources that have been successfully matched with their programs and what's in store for the future of composting.

Speaker:

Jennifer Trent is the Program Manager for the Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s (IWRC) Food Beverage & Organics Program. Located at the University of Northern Iowa, the IWRC actively works with clients to address food waste through actionable reduction and diversion strategies. Jennifer’s role as Program Manager has helped build and expand the IWRC’s food waste services across the Midwest by developing impactful and visionary projects, successfully seeking funding to expand the IWRC’s reach, and providing assistance to implement food waste reduction services and strategies such as food waste composting and compost use training, rescue and donation projects, regulatory compliance, and helping clients build their own organic waste reduction programs. Jennifer currently serves as the Director of the Iowa Composting Council and President of the US Composting Council where she advocates for growth of the compost industry at both the state and national level.
